Kitchen and housewares retailer Lakeland was looking for greener packaging that would also reinvent traditional packaging design. The result is a new pan range called Tri Ply. With the goal of reducing waste and being eco-friendly, the tripod-shaped packaging also increases space efficiency for transportation and merchandising compared with standard rectangular boxes. “Tri Ply has it all—its dynamic shape is eye-catching for consumers whilst ingeniously cutting waste and material costs for the retailer,” says Vicky Bembridge of Nicepond, which designed the packaging. “It also communicates the benefits of the product—which has an energy saving triple layer of stainless steel and aluminum for fast, efficient heat transfer.” (Package design: Nicepond, www.nicepond.com)
