NEXT + NOW> Upcycled packaging at Target
Cookie wrappers that have been "upcycled", or refashioned into a
useful product, were the focus of a promotion at Target from September
to December 2008. The retailer featured an end-cap display that cross-promoted
Nabisco's Chips Ahoy! cookies with tote bags that New Jersey-based
TerraCycle created out of the brand's wrappers. more

CONSUMER TRENDS> Adult or Rejuvenile?
The Rejuvenile trend is fueled in part by adults putting off marriage until the average age of 27 (women) or 28 (men); exhibited by the average age of a video gamer climbing to age 33; celebrated by Nickelodeon; and depicted in just about any movie starring Will Farrell. Take a look at the growing trend of adults cultivating tastes and mindsets traditionally associated with people much younger.

PACKAGING THAT SELLS_GLOBAL> Refill, reuse, recycle Plup Lähdevesi (spring water) is marketed in a donut-shaped .4L bottle
that consumers are encouraged to refill and reuse, in a variety of
creative ways. The project is part of the brand's overriding commitment
to fund environmental initiatives. In Finland, Plup donates 10 euro
cents from each bottle sold to the Baltic Sea Action Group, an
organization dedicated to cleaning up the Baltic Sea. more
