Part eco project, part stress remedy, Glassphemy! is the latest effort from a New York developer who has made a habit out of rethinking underused urban spaces. Set in a Brooklyn parking lot, Glassphemy! is a 20-foot-high, 30-foot-long enclosed steel tower that lets New Yorkers take out their aggressions by hurling glass bottles toward people standing at the opposite end of the tower (they’re safely tucked behind bulletproof glass). The vibrations created by the shattering bottles activate a light installation that creates flashes as the glass hits the walls.
