Generous growth for green packaging

U.S. demand for green packaging is projected to increase 3.4 percent annually to $43.9 billion in 2013, according to a report from The Freedonia Group. The fastest gains are expected for biodegradable plastic packaging, which is forecast to grow nearly 13 percent per year through 2013, and plastic recycled content packaging, whose growth will be aided by concentrated efforts to boost collection volume and further sustainability efforts by brand owners and plastics processors. Q: Is packaging that important?
