Artein is the Scots Gaelic word for stone, and stone is at the heart of this whiskey’s story, taste and design.

Artein is the Scots Gaelic word for stone, and stone is at the heart of this whiskey’s story, taste and design. There is a strong relationship between the Glenmorangie brand and stone. The brand’s emblem derives from the ancient Cadboll Stone, and the spring water that is the start point of its whiskey has been filtered for countless generations through the local limestone and sandstone strata. The design physically reflects the texture of stone used across carvings for many centuries. Contrasting colors represent the hard stone and warmth of the ruby liquor.
