As most consumer electronics brands are adopting the idea of packaging products to make them more “touchable” and accessible to shoppers, Microsoft has unveiled packaging that intentionally keeps its new mouse device out of reach. A clear, folded plastic box contains a cardboard “pedestal” insert that displays the brand’s new foldable laptop mouse like a work of art. The setup is designed to convey the premium nature of the product, which is positioned as a lifestyle accessory for fashion-conscious consumers.
