Straus Family Creamery, a small, family-owned, organic creamery, normally packages their milk in glass bottles. But in January, the creamery began testing a rigid, molded fiber bottle, made from old corrugated cardboard, with an inner LDPE recyclable, resealable milk pouch. The compostable bottle will be testing in select Whole Foods stores in Northern California through the end of February. The goal is to evolve the concept to where the outer shell can be used with refill pouches.
